Important evolution of the Fidesmo platform
March 18th, 2015
Just a little bit more than 6 months ago we shipped our first development Fidesmo Card, and our platform has since then undergone a massive development. We have implemented support for Java Card. The Fidesmo App has evolved from being just two lines of very user unfriendly text input, to an embryo of a cardapp store.
All fast moving companies however have to deal with the issue of legacy, and we have come to the conclusion that in order to be able to run even faster in the future, we will deprecate the first set of development cards. These are the red cards with no Fidesmo endorser in their corner (the left card in the below picture). If you have such a card, just let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org and we send you a new one free of charge!
Starting on March 25th, no MIFARE Classic based services will work on the old cards. You will also get notifications as soon as you deliver a service to a deprecated card. Any service on the card can continue to be used, but the card can no longer be updated via the Fidesmo App. Plus that the new card is much nicer and has more memory!
So, to summarize:
- First batch of Fidesmo Cards is being deprecated
- Starting from March 25 many services will not work on the deprecated cards
- In order to get a new Fidesmo Card, just send an email to email@example.com
